About the Author

Here you’ll discover insights into the author’s background, their journey, and the inspiration behind their work.

Dex Harker was born in East York, Ontario and moved to Markham, Ontario at the age of four with his parents and three older siblings. Growing up, he attended E.T. Crowle public school followed by Markham District High School. Throughout his adolescence, he was enraptured by the wonderous worlds of his favourite books and video games and found himself slipping away to take it all in. They served as a place of escape where a young man dared to dream something bigger than himself.

He devoted most of his time not only reading these magnificent stories from his favourite authors: J.R.R. Tolkien, Christie Golden, and Christopher Paolini, but mythological lore and historical texts as well. And as a young man, he developed an affinity for the book of revelation which inspired the world of the Immortal Seals Series. At the age of twenty-seven, he created his own story for the world to enjoy reading as much as he enjoyed writing it.

At the same time A Sigil of Darkness was written, he also began a career as a Paramedic in both Perth County and Norfolk County Paramedic Services. His years of service brought a new meaning to the importance of life and death and what happens once you cross over to the next realm of existence. It is an inspiration to the lifelong question: “what happens after you die?”

Along with his novels, Dex has also taken an interest in script writing. He has written multiple short stories and his new show “9 Circles of Bishop” will be aired exclusively on the streaming platform Reveel.net in 2024. He plans on continuing his writing career with more novels and television series, expanding the horizons for everyone to enjoy.

He currently resides in London, Ontario with his beautiful wife Eleftheria, and their dog Ruby. He hopes you enjoyed following Cayde, Vega, and Demona through Overworld and is thrilled to announce the second novel in the series: The Immortal Seals: A Seal Broken to be released in 2026.

I’ll be seeing you…
